Kaiji'' is a European red grape produced by crossbreeding ``Frame Talkie'' and ``Neo Muscat'' at the Uehara Grape Research Institute in Yamanashi Prefecture. The breed was registered in September 1977.

This species is a pure European variety that can be cultivated in the climate of Japan and can be called a 'red Muscat', and the biggest reason for this is that there is no fruit cracking due to rainfall.
